FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FAQ: FAQ

WHAT DO YOU TREAT?

Personally I do not treat 'conditions', I treat individuals. The most common presenting complaints I see range from back and neck pain to pelvis, hip and leg problems.

If you want to find out more, send us a message, we're always happy to help.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Firstly you must wear a mask in the clinic at all times, unless instructed otherwise. As with any medical examination, you will probably be asked to undress to your underwear. The most important thing is that you are comfortable in what you are wearing.

WHO IS IN CHARGE DURING MY CONSULTATION?

You.

As a sports massage therapist, I offer advice and suggest courses of action, however you are (and always will be) in charge of what happens to you. If, at any point, you have concerns or are unhappy with what has been discussed then please bring it to our attention and we will help to resolve (or work around) the issue

DOES IT HURT?

Some soft tissue treatment may cause discomfort during treatment.  I explain what and why I’m doing a certain treatment and check in throughout the session to ensure you’re comfortable.  You may feel a little stiff or sore after treatment, this is a normal healthy response to the treatment.

DO I NEED TO SEE MY DOCTOR FIRST?

You do not need to see your doctor first if you are paying for your own treatment. However, some insurance companies require you to see your doctor first.  Sports Massage is available on the NHS in some areas.

WHAT IF I'M NOT A SPORTS PERSON?

Sports massage is a type of treatment that focuses on manipulation and rehabilitation of muscles, tendons and ligaments. Patients seek treatment for a wide variety of reasons as it is suitable for, not only sports people, but anybody wishing to relieve tension and the strains of daily life.

Sports massage sessions combine hands-on therapy and exercise advice. A sports massage session can help people recover from soft tissue injuries and help you relax both mind and body.

CAN I BRING A FRIEND OR RELATIVE?

Of course - if you are unsure (or would just like some extra support) then here at The SW7 Clinic we would encourage you to bring someone you trust. Remember; YOU are in charge of the consultation.
